My name is Trevor Jordan, I was born in 1944, and I am both a qualified medical practitioner and an ordained priest in the Church of England, now retired from both practices.
To my great and eternal sadness, my wife, Jenny, died in April 2021 after 42 years of a very happy marriage. I now live alone, hugely supported by our four children, but I very greatly miss Jenny’s presence all day and every day.
One of the many downsides to being alone is not having anyone to discuss anything and everything with. So, while this blog was conceived as a place where I could record and explore some of the random thoughts which go through my mind, it is an invitation for others to comment and converse with me.
I have always been intensely and uncritically curious about almost everything I encounter, a trait which has been reinforced and further enabled by the ready access I now have to the World Wide Web through my mobile phone which never leaves my side. But there is no substitute for conversations with live humans! If you have comments on my sometimes unorthodox ideas and opinions – the subtitle for the blog is “Swimming against the tides!” – I will be very happy to discuss them with you, and you can message me via the form on the Contact page.
